Mary Ann received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Loyola University of Chicago and her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Northwestern University. She has over 25 years’ experience in healthcare and education. She was the clinical nurse specialist for the brain injury program and an educator in staff education and continuing education departments at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. She started her own education and consulting business that developed and taught educational programs to prepare nurses for the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse exam as well as provided educational and consultation services to rehabilitation units in acute care settings.
At Paragon she provides continuing education in-services to skilled and long-term care nursing staff on the care and management of patient issues and assists with the educational needs of employees. In addition, she provides nurse case management for a caseload of residents along the continuum of care in a retirement home weekly. She is driven by the conviction that effective education and health advocacy affects outcomes and quality of life.
