The owner and Chief Executive Officer of Paragon Clinical, Dr. Mary Beth Sutkowski, is a board-certified internist and native of the Chicago metropolitan area. She received her medical degree and completed her residency at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, where she was asked to stay an additional year as chief resident.
Dr. Sutkowski completed a two-year fellowship in internal medicine at Loyola University/Hines VA Hospitals, where she researched coronary risk prediction models and co-authored a study that was printed in the American Heart Journal in 1999. She worked 13 years at Advocate's Dreyer Medical clinic, pioneering their first Skilled Nursing Home Rounding Program. For more than a decade Dr. Sutkowski exclusively managed Humana Gold patients in skilled nursing facilities, a group for which Dreyer assumed full risk.
Dr. Sutkowski has held medical directorships in nursing homes and hospice groups and served on quality assurance and utilization management committees. Dr. Sutkowski is a Certified Medical Director (CMD), through the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM), and has gone through specific training and a credentialing program focusing on the importance of clinical and management knowledge specific to long-term care. As Paragon's Chief Executive Officer, she works with an outstanding team of caring and talented professionals who are driven by a passion for delivering quality health care to the elderly.
Dr. Sutkowski has helped develop medical infrastructures for skilled nursing facilities and assisted living residences in the Chicagoland area. She also works as a SNFist and is part of a telemedicine program that provides remote, after-hours clinical care in nursing homes. Dr. Sutkowski has a passion for providing state-of-the-art medical care and medical management systems for the elderly and disabled.
